Marketing associations of the Dutch Wadden Sea region launch joint "Visit Wadden" campaign
On 4 April, the new Dutch campaign "Visit Wadden" was officially launched during the well-attended symposium "Wij, Waddenzee Werelderfgoed".
With the launch event a new website dedicated to experiencing the World Heritage site in the Dutch Wadden Sea, www.visitwadden.nl, was officially put online. Different to the official website www.waddensea-worldheritage.org, which covers the entire transboundary site and the Trilateral Wadden Sea Cooperation, the new website is a new destination marketing website of the Dutch Wadden Sea region. It presents dozens of stories and routes for visitors to experience. It also contains a toolkit for entrepreneurs, a brand guide, brochures for visitors and social media channels. The “Visit Wadden” campaign lasts six years over the period of 2018-2024.
Barbara Risselada (Director of Marketing Groningen), Martin Cnossen (Director of Brand Fryslân) and Adriana Stam (Holland Boven Amsterdam) will be running the Visit Wadden campaign for the coming six years: "This day is a milestone in the collaboration between the three marketing organizations, entrepreneurs and institutions within the Dutch Wadden area. Together we can draw attention to this beautiful but also vulnerable site. The awarding of the World Heritage title to the Wadden Sea, which continues in Germany and Denmark, celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. We have to tell that story and for that we start with residents and entrepreneurs in the area to involve them in the campaign and to make them ambassadors to the Wadden Sea World Heritage. Numerous activities will be developed from the campaign launched today. So keep an eye on www.visitwadden.nl."
